SMITHS IP welcomes our two outstanding summer law students, Karen Chow and Kurtis Harms to the firm. Here is a little something about them.
Karen Chow is a law student at the University of Ottawa. She holds a Bachelor of Arts & Science from McGill University. During her undergraduate studies, Karen worked at a biotechnology company focused on human health through the microbiome, and subsequently at Health Canada. Karen has been active during her legal studies. She runs the uOttawa Women’s Legal Mentorship Program, and serves on the senior editorial board of the Ottawa Law Review.
Kurtis Harms is a summer law student from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia. He holds a Degree in Mechanical Engineering (with distinction) as well as a Minor in International Relations, and is passionate about technology, business entrepreneurship and autonomous systems. Kurtis enjoys travelling, computer programming, sailing and cycling in Vancouver.
